Additional Residue Translations: Beginning with ASTRAL 1.55, chemically modified residues were included in the translation table that maps the 3-letter codes found in PDB files to one-letter codes in our sequences. Beginning with ASTRAL 1.57, we have also translated modified residues in cases where the base amino acid is clearly identified in comments in the PDB file. Some of these were automatically parsed from SEQADV records, while others were manually edited. One thing in particular to watch out for are post-translational cyclizations, in which a single heterogen was derived from two or three consecutive amino acids. Beginning with ASTRAL 1.73, the PDB's chemical dictionary is used to translate chemically modified residues, instead of the translation table from ASTRAL 1.55. Notes: NH2 and ACE "residues" are not included in the sequences; in releases of ASTRAL prior to 1.55, they were sometimes translated as 'x'.
