SCOPe Funding Alert: SCOPe support from the NIH ended in April 2016. John-Marc Chandonia is the primary maintainer and has continued to develop SCOPe using vacation time. Three proposals to the NIH for continued funding have been unsuccessful. If our current NIH proposal is not funded, SCOPe will shut down permanently in Summer 2017 as Dr. Chandonia will need to seek a new position.

Lineage for Fold d.96: T-fold

  1. Root: SCOPe 2.06
  2. 2152203Class d: Alpha and beta proteins (a+b) [53931] (385 folds)
  3. 2185755Fold d.96: T-fold [55619] (2 superfamilies)
    beta(2)-alpha(2)-beta(2); 2 layers: alpha/beta; antiparallel sheet 1234
tunnel-shaped: its known members form wide oligomeric barrels different sizes

Superfamilies:

  1. 2185756d.96.1: Tetrahydrobiopterin biosynthesis enzymes-like [55620] (5 families) (S)
bind purine or pterin in topologically similar sites between subunits
  2. 2186431d.96.2: ApbE-like [143631] (2 families) (S)
duplication: contains two differently decorated beta(2)-alpha(2)-beta(2) subdomains, similar to other T-fold domains; probably does not form the tunnel-shaped oligomers
